Mr. Brotin Banerjee Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

In a career spanning 13 years across key Tata Group companies, Mr. Brotin Banerjee has acquired an in-depth understanding of the Indian consumer. Mr. Banerjee joined Tata Housing Development Company Limited (the holding company of Tata Value Homes) in 2006 as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. In 2008 he was appointed as MD & CEO of Tata Housing, giving him the distinction of being one of the youngest MDs in the history of Tata Group. Mr. Banerjee was instrumental in the formation of Tata Value Homes Limited (formerly Smart Value Homes Ltd.) as a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Housing. Mr. Brotin Banerjee has revolutionized the face of the real estate sector by pioneering the innovative concept of low-cost housing under the Tata Value Homes brand "Shubh Griha." Mr. Banerjee was appointed Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Tata Value Homes, formerly Smart Value Homes Ltd., in April 2012. He is the proud recipient of the Pathfinders Award for the "Most Enterprising CEO" at the Realty Plus Excellence Awards 2010 for his contribution in shaping Tata Housing as one of the most innovative, customer centric and successful companies in real estate today.

Mr. Brotin began his career with Tata Group at Tata Chemicals. As a Product Manager (Branded Salt - Tata Chemicals), he was instrumental in the successful re-launch of TATA Salt Brand with the most popular campaign (TATA Namak – Desh Ka Namak) as well as in increasing its market share to its highest level till then. He had the vision to cater to the bottom of the pyramid and in the year 2001, Tata Chemicals launched a low-cost branded iodized salt ‘Samunder’ in order to reach the bottom of the pyramid and successfully converted the un-branded salt users to use iodized Namak.

When the Tata Group acquired strategic stake in Barista Coffee Company Ltd, Mr. Banerjee was deputed to the company in the role of VP – Marketing, Strategy and Corporate Communications. His role was to ensure the revival of the brand that was the pioneer in building the ‘out of house’ coffee culture in India. He was subsequently promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Not only did he stabilize the company but during his time many innovations and new products were launched (Barista Crème, Barista Radio, Barista Smart Card, etc.), which helped Barista become an aspirational and premium brand. Pitch magazine in its anniversary issue in October 2004 featured him in the list of top 50 marketing professionals in India. During his tenure, Mr. Banerjee ensured that Barista became one of the country’s most successful, premium and aspirational brands.

Armed with a MA in International Studies from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Mr. Banerjee joined the prestigious TAS (TATA Administrative Services) in 1998. He also holds a BA Honors degree from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.

Mr. G. Anantharaman Independent Director

Mr. G. Anantharaman belongs to the Indian Revenue Service (Income tax 1968), and has worked in various senior capacities in the Revenue Service of the Government of India before retiring as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax - Mumbai in June 2004. Mr. Anantharaman has dealt with several tax fraud cases and matters relating to tax administration. He was also instrumental in developing the draft provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering Act in the Indian context in 1995-96. On retirement from the Indian Revenue Service, he joined the Capital Market Regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), as a full time member in charge of surveillance, investigations and market regulations. He continued to occupy the said position till 13th March, 2008.

Mr. R. R. Shastri Non-Executive Director

Mr. Raghavan R. Shastri is a qualified Company Secretary and a member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He also holds a Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (M. Com) and a Post Graduate Degree in Law (LLB). He has been with the Tata Group for over three decades having worked with Tata Steel and Tata Sons before he joined Tata Industries in January 2007. Mr. Shastri held the position of Vice President (Legal) & Company Secretary with Tata Industries Limited, where he was responsible for the corporate secretarial and legal matters and reported to the Managing Director.

Mr. Eruch N Kapadia Non-Executive Director

Mr. Eruch N. Kapadia serves as Senior Vice President, Finance at Tata Sons Limited. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Cost Accountant. Prior to Tata Sons, he has worked with Tata Chemicals in various roles within the finance function.

Mr. Vivek Kumar Goyal Non-Executive Director

Mr. Vivek Goyal is a qualified Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and a Law Graduate. During his 24 years of spanning career, he has been managing an array of functions within the finance domain including Finance, Accounts and Treasury. He was last associated with Gautam Thapar Group (Bhallarpur Industries Limited) as Chief Financial Officer. He has vast range of experience in fund raising including international market and has experience in corporate restructuring. Currently he is serving as Chief Financial Officer of Tata Housing Development Company Limited.

Mr. Suresh Lulla Independent Director

Mr. Suresh Lulla established Qimpro Consultants Pvt. Ltd. in 1987 as a focused quality management consultancy based on The Juran Trilogy: quality planning, quality control, and quality improvement. Since inception, Qimpro has saved Indian corporates over Rs 20,000 crores in terms of cost of poor quality, using the Juran methodologies. Mr. Lulla is a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and an MS in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit.

Ms. Renu Basu Non-Executive Director

Ms. Renu Basu is a dynamic leader in the hospitality industry with over 30 years of experience. She oversees the global sales organization of the Taj Group, which consists of more than 250 senior global sales associates. Renu began her career with Business India in 1982 and joined Taj in 1986. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Degree in Law from Mumbai University and a Diploma in Marketing Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. She has also completed a General Management Programme from Michigan Business School.
